Edge of Fate Post-Launch Support

Things have started to settle since launch of EoF and the Worlds First Race, with that being said no launch is perfect and the D2Team recognizes that (and hopefully the community as well). Which is why they're looking at targeted fixes and reminders below:

Portal and Worlds Tabs: The team knows that the community hasn't taken well to how the Destinations tab looks visually, so in a future update they'll be looking into reverting that change.

Bright Dust in Edge of Fate: The team will be adding an infinite source for Bright Dust, while also pairing it with a make do grant in an upcoming update. Knowing that they were removing the Pathfinder system, there will be a simpler daily objective and mini-objective system planned for Renegades. And because that they knew they were remove that infinite grind source until Renegades, Bright Dust awards will be larger for most players (writer already has 11k so far).

Power Deltas and Contest Raid: The team has seen reports of enemies being at a higher power delta than what was listed and will be investigating it this week. On top of that, while they want Contest mode to challenge your loadouts, the highest damage has been reported to feel that it requires more than expected, which the feedback from this weekend will be used to inform future Contest mode content. They're also aware of the issues of the rally flag not providing ammo and abilities consistently - the team is investigating and will provide an update when possible. Finally, they'll also looking into reward quality.

Ability Regeneration in Amour 3.0: The team is investigating where ability regen was not recharging at the rates that were previously communicated in a TWID following update 9.0.0.1. The ability stats Grenade, Melee, Class, and Super, are returning less ability energy from the communicated 70 in an ability stat. This is however true for the 85 mark, so they'll making the 70 mark true in a future update.

Ammo Economy: The team wanted players to have more control on ammo acquisition and being able to know when it will drop, as well as providing buildcrafting options to build ammo and slightly reduce ammo gains for players who don't invest in the stat (while providing more for those who do). They understand they've missed the mark and will be making the following changes:

  • With Update 9.0.0.3, players will see:

    • Increased Rocket Sidearm per ammo brick (5 to 6 base, 10 to 12 with enhanced ammo brick

    • Swords: A bug that was reducing their total ammo has been fixed (this also increases their ammo per brick slightly).

    • Some Area Denial Frames only getting one ammo per brick have been fixed, they will now get 3 base and 5 enhanced

  • The team is currently playtesting the following changed, which are subject to change at any time, with an eye to ship most in Update 9.0.0.4 on July 29th:

    • Players who are at the lowest end of ammo investment (0 stat, 0 mods) will see ammo progress faster providing more bricks

    • Increase the ammo per brick for some additional weapon types

    • Buff the ammo generation stats for some Exotic weapons that are behind so that they generate ammo faster

  • There is also additional feedback items that the team has addressed in the TWID to ensure a healthy ammo system:

    • Provide a better method of highlighting ammo drops or recovering ammo if it falls off the map or can't be reached

    • Improvements on how assists generate ammo

    • Continue to build more sandbox changes for generating ammo, enabling players to feel like they specialize in ammo generation - even for their teammates
