The TWID from this past Thursday was beefy! So we'll do out best to go over the key important information and if anything is missed, don't be afraid to comment on this post! This will yet again be considered Part 1 of 2 of the TWID TLDRs. Forewarning; these tunings don't take place until The Edge of Fate which releases in just a week!
The Portal

This is the new Portal hub. This will include activities from Onslaught to returning fan favourites like The Coil (amongst other seasonal activities). Amongst these activities, you can tune modifiers for an increased challenge and higher tiered loot. This Hub will include the newly added Solo Ops, Fireteam Ops, Pinnacle Ops, Crucible Ops, and a dedicated section for activities like Exotic Missions. There will also be a Quick Launch Section and a Seasonal Hub - which includes daily and weekly challenges that were first introduced to us in Heavy Metal. Due to this, Guardian Rank is also being reworked for more of a focus on The Portal and it's activities, with everyone starting at Rank 2. Triumphs like Commendations and Soloing the latest dungeon as been removed for an easy fast track to Rank 11 (don't worry, you'll still be able to get commendations from peers!).
Rite of The Nine Final Update
We're now in the final weeks of Rite of The Nine, which means more updates to the event. As a reminder, Daybreak has been added. An old school modifier that recharge your abilities to the max. Do go farm like a madman!
To prepare for Edge of Fate, The Emissary along with Xur will be offering desirable exotics, ones that are being offered are craftable weapons for when Destiny will be 100% free to play for 2 weeks. So get them while you can!!
Here's the full schedule for the next week:
Current week: Prophecy is featured, increased rewards
Until July 15th: Nonary Engrams offered
July 1st: Players will be able to purchase Nonary Engrams with 350 Nonary Manifolds
July 8th: Players will be rewarded a Nonary Engram each day they sign in. Just make sure to claim it at The Emissary
From July 8th, "lootapalooza" will begin, with increased rewards and weapon drops from enemies in all dungeons. Even more loot from the final boss chest when you've completed all encounters as well.
Weapon Tuning for The Edge of Fate
Machine Guns Now have staged reload
Staged reload places checkpoints in the reload animation
When you cancel a reload and start it again, it will resume from that last checkpoint
Glaives
Reduced projectile tracking strength at very close range to avoid behaviours that would make it less accurate
Perks
Reconstruction
Increased the amount of ammo transferred from 10% to 25%
Paracausal Affinity
Visible timer added
Kinetic Tremors
Decreased shots to activate on certain weapons and subfamilies
High Impact ARs: Require 9 hits, down from 12

Area Denial GLs: perk progress reduced by 80% (Devs: Surprisingly not as noticeable as it sounds)
Swords: perk progress increased by an additional 30%
Eager Edge and Valiant Charge
When active: Melee search angle reduced 50% at start of lunge and 88% at the edge of lunge range
Requires the player to look more at their target to strike it, improving target acquisition in PvE and requiring a more direct look in PvP
Chain Reaction
Threadlings created by weapon perks no longer activate the detonation from Chain reaction
Chain Reaction, Firefly, and Dragonfly
All three no longer use weapon archetype scaling against enemies and instead use a new damage scaling that is more normalized
This buffs a lot of weapons with these perks against most targets

SMGs: Deal 43% more Dragonfly and Firefly damage to minor combatants
ARs: Deal 47% more Dragonfly damage to minor combatants

Champion Interaction Changes
Season 10 introduced subclass verbs to stun Champions and since have been added to weapons and exotic weapons. This, however, came with a lot of issues like certain weapons not pairing with anti-Champion effects from the seasonal Artifact or Radiant. To prevent this, exotics that intrinsically have the anti-Champion symbol will not be getting anti-Champ capabilities from radiant-like effects or even from the Seasonal Artifact.
Exotic Weapons

Last Stand bonus is now active when running solo PvE activities
Hierarchy of Needs
Now gain charges of Guidance Ring with any hit from Hierarchy and now only need 3 charges to deploy the ring

Yes that is indeed all bows, including exotic ones
Fixed an issue where seeker missiles would not play detonation visual effect when colliding with world geometry

Heat Sink
Hip-fire self-damage has been decreased to 50% less damage than ADS self-damage, up from 33% less damage
Caty: Improved health regen removed. Now final bows while Ignition Trigger is active grants Cure x1

Regarding PvP
The Team is aware of the concerns regarding fixed health values and the new weapons stat damage bonuses, will be keeping an eye on it all and are aiming at a number of targets. But, they want to make sure the weapons and perks they choose to tune actually become balance issues instead of just preemptively nerfing a bunch of builds and playstyles. Once it's known how realistic is can be to get certain stat combos, they'll offer a more complete picture to determine how problematic these builds are in the Crucible. Feedback will be watched and gathered, they are ready to adjust when necessary in future updates.
